Doug began working in the food industry at age 15. His “perfect” job always involved being around others and the interaction between the team to execute a task. He enjoys the effort and hard work put in by the entire Classic team. Teamwork, communication and execution are Doug’s key focus. He enjoys that his work takes him from kitchen, to delivery to event. “The days are never boring here. It is incredible to watch a relationship start with a phone call and end with a polished event. Mary & I are very fortunate to work at and own Classic Catering.”
Mary decided to begin a catering career after several years of teaching. With Doug as her partner, the two worked together to create what they feel is one of the best catering companies in Kansas City. Mary thrives on organization, attention to detail, and establishing long-lasting relationships with clients. Her ultimate goal is for each client to rest assured that Classic Catering will take care of all the details, start to finish. “We started Classic Catering on the premise that we would treat our clients how we would want to be treated if we needed a caterer for our important event. We still have that mindset and enjoy watching each event come together perfectly.”
Lispeth began working in the restaurant industry at age 18. Lispeth’s extensive resume includes Capital Grille, Joe D’s and Powell Gardens. She loves baking and making soups from scratch. She also enjoys challenging herself with new recipes and special menu requests. “I love to explore new food tastes and create exciting and interesting meals for my family and friends. I bring that enthusiasm for food to work in order to make every event special for every client.”
Like Doug, Kori has been involved with food since age 15. He enjoys seeing a party take shape; from menu creation, to mental preparation, and finally to food prep. He also thrives on organization and the team collaboration that must take place in order to execute the events. “One of the best feelings is to see all your hard work enjoyed to the fullest extent. The teamwork and camaraderie is always fun, too!”
Spence has accumulated 34 years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry. His extensive resume includes Hereford House, Jack Stack BBQ, and Charlie Hooper’s. Spence possesses a strong passion for customer service and teamwork. “Classic Catering encompasses all the values and abilities necessary to provide a quality product, outstanding client services, and above and beyond employee relations and work environment. It has been my great fortune and blessing to have been added to the team.””
Becky has worked in the restaurant and customer service industries her entire career. With a BSBA in International Business under her belt, she is currently pursuing a second degree in Web Technologies. She adores organization, attention to details, sharing information, and building relationships. “I love the close-knit bond of the Classic Catering family. Everyone works together harmoniously with only one thing in mind, the customer. The food that comes out of the kitchen not only looks amazing, but tastes incredible.”
Jan has been with Classic for several years, along with the rest of the staff. She enjoys working for Mary and Doug and talking with clients to provide excellent customer service and fantastic food.
